Mike’s Pizza Pub

The furniture is large and heavy, for good reason. If you try to move them around, all of the big burly guys around the bar will momentarily freeze, assess what you are doing, and then go back to slamming back budweisers and maintaining a smoke cloud the size of rhode island. And the waitress will sit on your lap if you say ’here, baby’. But it’s a family place, too- which is where it’s kind of sad. Mike’s is a caricature of downtrodden tasteless middle america, and it’s hard to keep from feeling superior- even worse, from letting it show. The food is ok, and you can’t beat the price, but I left feeling utterly depressed.

According to a large plaque on the wall, Mike’s served over 100,000 bottles of Budweiser in 2001. What’s more, they also have Bud on tap.
