Here we have a conundrum. This tiny restaurant seems to have a solid clientele of west Africans, which suggests authenticity in their menu. But it’s clear to me that the meat is cooked separately from the sauce, and then added...resulting in some staggeringly dry meat. Is it good this way? I don’t think so. But is it authentic? Other west African restaurants don’t seem to use this style of preparation.

That said, everything EXCEPT the meat is quite good. The soups are spicy almost beyond belief, and yet you will break out in a _happy_ sweat. Some of the vegetables are unfamiliar, both in name and in taste, but they seems to be freshly and carefully prepared. A variety of starches are available, and the fufu is as rubbery and absorbent as you’d expect.

Honestly, if the meat weren’t so dang dry, I’d easily give this place a 7...possibly even an 8.
