29 Diner

A Fairfax historic landmark, this place has been here since 1947 and I’m sure it hasn’t changed much. When it first opened it was in a mostly empty area of US 29, then a major truck route.

For a long time this diner was known as the Tastee 29 Diner, but a few years ago its name changed back. They replaced the old neon sign with a new one, and half of the new sign immediately started to flicker. It is that sort of place.

No points for food, but major points for atmosphere. There is just something about a diner that has been open 24/7 for over fifty years.
