Cottonwood Cafe

Now closed, for all time I hope.

[origianl review 1/7/2003 follows] Like Austin Grill, this was once a good restaurant. Actually, this was once a great restaurant, innovative like Red Sage was at the time but much more approachable. I went there alot. I celebrated birthdays there. I took friends there. I took family there. We all loved it. That was then. The place changed hands at least once. The menu went downhill. The food quality is terrible. This place is awful. There is no reason why a sane person with functioning taste buds would care to dine here. Oh, and the decor is terrible, too. Santa Fe style is so 1980s. yech.

I haven’t been in about five years, and it wasn’t great then. I seem to recall that the apple pie was edible, but otherwise- there are so many good restaurants in bethesda, try one of them instead.
