Espresso Vivace Roasteria

I am hesitant to give a 10 on the strength of a single item, but this IS a coffeeshop after all. Maybe that’s all that holds me back from making it an 11.

I will admit that I am far removed from being a “serious” coffee snob, but perhaps that’s what makes the impace of Vivace’s coffee even more outstanding. The demitasse of ristretto here is simply the most sublime coffee experience to have ever crossed my palate. Rich and bittersweet, the aroma alone stops just short of sensory overload. The finish lingers in a way that would make an Islay single malt whisky jealous.

This is the essence of coffee; pure, menacing and unadulterated.

The only disappointment I can think of is that it’s just up the street from the Capital Hill location of The Dilettante (chocolatier), and you simply should not follow one with the other, at least not right away.
