2003-10-27 As far as I know, Woodley Park and Arlington are the only two locations where you can sit down in a restaurant setting- the others are more of the grab-and go or quick lunch establishments. Arlington has better service, and, I think, a better chef. Tasty lebanese food. Update, 26 Oct 2003: The arlington location has reopened following a complete remodel. The walls are a soft yellow, there’s a bar to drink at while waiting for a table, the bathrooms have been upgraded with a pleasing tile, and the entire dining room layout has changed [along with the front door!] Unfortunately, it’s lost some of the charm it once had, and the acoustics are worse [it can get quite loud]. Also, the kitchen was remodeled too, and they don’t seem to have adjusted to the new flow, even after a few weeks. The food is still tasty, but you may wait longer for it. Time will hopefully sort this out.

2002-12-01 Lebanese Taverna has branched out substantially, but the Washington Blvd location in Arlington is significantly better than the rest. This is a restaurant that’s easy to underrate. But they really do have an excellent understanding of how to balance the flavors and textures in a dish; and the best dishes are excellent. |
