Zeffirino

In hindsight, the food-court Panda Express, with its horrible “chinese” food and 50% chance of food poisoning... would have been a better choice.

The bread was so stale I had to heroically resist the temptation to throw it at the “gondoliers”. The ravioli was so frozen that most of it never unstuck from itself. The “spinach” that was supposed to have been in the ravioli apparantly was waved at it instead.

And the service completely, utterly, sucked ass. I’m being kind, here.

Two locations, one in Genoa, and the other at the Venetian Las Vegas. Now, I’m not going to comment on the view of the “sky”, “canal”, and “gondolas”; if you’re in Vegas, you’ll probably like it just fine.

What I am going to comment on is service that ignores you unless they’re trying to upsell. It shouldn’t take eight minutes and three people to seat a small party in a nearly empty restaurant; I shouldn’t have to refuse things more than once; and anyone who comes to the table should be able to at least pass on your requests.

I’d forgive all these in a neighborhood Italian restaurant — if the food were good. But Zeffirino does not have good food, and they don’t have low prices or even reasonable prices. I cannot recommend visiting them for any reason. There are better choices even without leaving the building.

Maybe the Genoa branch is better; I’ll never find out.
