Bread was hot and pretty tasty. Chick Peas were reported very good. I had the chicken skewer <spicy> the meat was a little over cooked and not as tender as I’d like.

If there is a silver lining to the urban encroachment brought on by the current housing shortage, it must be the opportunity to open new and interesting places to eat in the pseudo-village centers that developers seem to be fond of lately. The development plaguing the western end of Shady Grove road has brought forth a little, and surprisingly different kebab house.
Unlike the area’s numerous Persian (and even Afghan) kebab houses, Skewers puts a decidedly Indian bent on the basic model of meat-on-a-stick-over-fire. The standard meal includes the kebab over basmati rice, some salad, a side of spicy chickpeas, your choice of naan or roti, and a little bit of chutney. For $8 to $11, it’s a decent little meal, and pretty tasty. The chicken was pretty good, but the lamb chops (prepared with a seasoning rub) were definitely the hot ticket — a bit fatty perhaps, but stunningly tender and delicious. The chickpeas were more than worthy, the rice was nice and warm, the naan was fresh...maybe twenty seconds into my meal and I was wondering why I ever still bother with the Kentlands Moby Dick.
There is no table service; you order and pick up your food at a counter off to the side. I think this one’s definitely going onto my short list of contenders for take-out.
