Persimmon

Persimmon is a pretty little gem of a restaurant, offering new American style food, with an emphasis on seafood. The menu changes frequently, though not daily. Most of the dishes I’ve sampled in a half dozen or so visits (at both dinner and lunch) have been very well-prepared. Reservations are usually necessary. Although the night I went with Kobi there was indeed a geriatric crowd, on other visits the crowd has been much younger. Persimmon seems to attract a diverse group.

Everything here was excellent, but the crowd was decidedly geriatric. It was a perfectly pleasant evening, but the vibe was off. I felt like I had to whisper. It’s a small space; reservations are required, and it’s appropriate to dress up. Priced accordingly.
