2004-01-22 Recently they revamped the menu. Big mistake. The new sauces are just weird; the sweet one is sweeter than candy. The quality of the meat has also gone down. I used to enjoy going to Red Hot and Blue when I felt like slummin’ it. Now I can barely stomach it. I agree with cmorgan: the music’s good, and I love the banana pudding. It’s just like the stuff I used to assemble when I was six years old. Serious kid-style comfort food; don’t expect a miracle.

2003-04-27 Standard, if not sub-par on off days, barbecue fare. While there are better places to get barbecue around though, this is the only place I know of that has decent blues running over the speakers and carries banana pudding. The latter may be reason enough to go, in fact. Anyway as chains go, this isn’t too bad.

2002-11-29 It’s barbecue. Still, I have fond memories of doing take-out runs in laurel consisting of like 8 pulled pork sandwiches and assorted sides, and 6 key lime pies for dessert, and everyone just sitting on the floor or seating surfaces and chowing down. Decent take-out food, but the establishment itself was always a bit too smoky and loud for me. |
