Located in the same space that formerly held Heritage India, Passage to India quite possibly offers the best Indian food in the greater DC metro area. A Parsi stew of lamb and apricots is everything I want from the cuisine: complexly spicy (but not picante), it compels you to keep tasting to try to discren just what those flavors are. Other dishes I’ve tried are every bit as good. If you require knock-your-socks-off heat, well... I don’t know if you’ll find it here. Guess I’ll have to go back and try more dishes. Oh, and the chaina kheer is cousin to rasmalai, and... better than Connaught’s. Yes, better.
